Almudena: an identity
Technique: AI + 3D printing on resin
Dimensions: 170x133x20 mm
Almudena: an identity, is a new singular experience generated from the expansive synthesis of thousands of appropriated and accumulated portraits. These images are processed as data to create Almudena, a physical body provided with an anonymous and common identity.
I use the capabilities of a digital neural network to learn and create, with the intention of reinterpreting the material surface of the images in my Almudena archive: a collection of portraits found on the gravestones of the Almudena cemetery.
The portrait, generally conceived on the basis of verisimilitude and individuality, is transformed in this project into a single universal image that melts the limits of objective representation.
